Blake Hutchins lives in the green hills of Eugene, Oregon with his wife, two daughters, the required three eccentric cats, and the token dog.  He is a member of the Wordos fiction writers’ group, which he joined in 1998.  His story “The Sword from the Sea” won first prize for the 2nd Quarter of the L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest in 2005, and appears in the anthology Writers of the Future, Vol. XXII, published in 2006.

Other publication credits include the critically acclaimed Polyphony 5, and the satirical SF ‘zine Blood, Blade & Thruster.

He was the creative director, lead writer, and a designer on the computer games Tribes (1998, Sierra), Starsiege (1999, Sierra), Tribes 2 (2001, Sierra), and Enigma: Rising Tide (2003, Tesseraction Games).  In addition to his fiction credits, he has written user manuals, marketing copy, white papers, business plans, press releases, news articles, and a host of legal briefs.

When not writing, he focuses on his family, marathon running, politics, and reading voraciously.
